About Us

Blewbury Pre-School has been providing early years education for over 50 years.

We offer the Early Years Foundation Stage to children from 2½ – 4 years, up to 5 sessions per week. Our aim is for the children to learn through play, so at each session we provide activities which promote learning, both indoors and outdoors.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework which is set by the Department for Education, and became statutory from 1st September 2021. This curriculum applies to all providers of Early Years’ education in England (Childminders, Nurseries, Pre Schools and Primary Schools).

The pre-school was assessed by Ofsted in 2023 and was a rating of Good. A full copy of the report can be found here

Our Values

01

Be Inclusive

We strive to create a secure, inclusive environment where all children can thrive, and where every contribution is respected and valued. Families play a crucial role in promoting equality and diversity, while we provide positive, non-stereotypical information about gender roles, diverse family structures, and cultural backgrounds. We are fully committed to anti-discriminatory practices, embedding inclusion throughout all our Pre-School activities, and fostering positive relationships across all communities.

02

Opportunities for all

We ensure our service is inclusive, recognising the diverse backgrounds of children and their families, whether social, economic, ethnic, cultural, or religious. We respect all family structures, including single-parent and same-sex families, and acknowledge the needs of children affected by disability, social exclusion, or discrimination. Our commitment is to promote equality and value diversity through anti-discriminatory practices for all children and families.

Safeguarding

We do this with three key commitments: creating a culture of safety where children are consistently protected from harm, responding swiftly to any concerns of abuse in line with statutory guidelines, and raising awareness of child protection through comprehensive adult training. Additionally, we empower children through our curriculum, promoting their resilience, strength, and right to be heard, while also adhering to the Prevent Duty to ensure their safety.

Provide for SEN

04

We believe every child is welcome and strive to create an environment where they feel secure and supported to reach their full potential. The 2014 Special Educational Needs reforms provide support from birth to age 25. As your child settles into Pre-School, we will address any development concerns and work with specialists, including speech therapists and Inclusion Support Teachers, to help them progress. Our goal is to ensure your child is happy, well cared for, and thriving during their time with us.
